“One small step for Kaneva, one (sorta) giant leap for sign in convenience.”
Hello Kaneva friends. David Eckoff here with a feature update: we’ve surfaced sign in fields to the top of the Kaneva front page, for faster and easier sign in:

Previously, signing in to Kaneva required an extra click to a dedicated sign in page. Now, with the sign in fields on the front page, there’s one less click you need to hit, and one less page you have to wait to load.
We know this is a relatively small feature. But we hope it makes the sign in process just a little easier and faster for you.
As always, we welcome your feedback - and love hearing your comments here!

Hello Kanevans!
It’s time for another Kirt Asks. I am not the expert - you are - so I ask you. This time I reach out to the biggest party group I’ve ever known: Brazilians during Carnaval!! The whole country goes crazy for days; I’ve had the extreme pleasure of being there twice over the years, but this year we ALL get to go, in the virtual world of Kaneva!
In the States we have a smaller version of Carnaval, known as the Mardi Gras. There are celebrations all over the world, go to www.carnaval.com and click on a world city to learn more.
I had some fun in Kaneva getting revved up for Carnaval. If you want, follow these 4 Steps:
Step 1: Find some Brazilians and do the Swish dance - Rumba works too because it’s similar to the Samba.
Step 2: Put on your Mardi Gras outfit - wait for the raves.
Step 3: Invite them to wear their outfits too - Brazilians almost never pass this one up.
Step 4: Take your new dance friends to Brazilian clubs and shout “Where’s the Carnaval Party?”
That’s it - you’ll have plenty of parties to go to. Also check our forums, people are advertising their Mardi Gras parties. The fun starts now and goes all the way through Tuesday, February 24th.
Ok all you Brazilians! Kirt Asks: Where’s the Carnaval Party?!! Post your comments here so we all know where to go! And everyone update your playlists with Samba and Mardi Gras music!

Hello everyone. My name is Jared Collins aka “Sir_Cannon” and I’m a Kaneva Game QA Engineer, which is basically a fancy way of saying I get paid to break things. I’ve been with the company for almost a year now. When I applied for the job here at Kaneva I brought a list of bugs to the interview. When I told my wife that I was planning to do this she exclaimed, “Jared, you can’t just walk in there and tell them what is wrong with the game during the interview! That would be rude.” To which I simply replied, “Well that’s what they plan to pay me for…” Love you honey!
Every time someone asks what I do for a living I am faced with two options. I can either tell them that I play video games all day or that I help project managers, engineers, and 3D artists find any bugs, or issues that might be present with their work. Typically everyone wants to hear that I play video games for a living. Seriously I’ve had doctors driving around in high priced sports cars who tell me they wish they had my job. They think that I sit in a bean bag chair and eat popcorn while I strive to gain the top rankings in Ka-Ching! While testing from a “regular users” standpoint is a large part of what I do there is a lot more technical aspects of the job than people think, but I won’t bore you with details.
So a lot of you might ask, “How do I get a sneak peak at the latest content coming to Kaneva?“
The simple answer to that question is, “join us in testing the latest build on our preview servers.” On preview you have access to the latest and greatest; the next version of Kaneva to go live once it goes through testing and is approved for release. We often hold specific focus tests on the server to get a better look at key parts of the build that we might have created or improved. Checking out what is on preview is really simple, just head to http://www.kaneva.com/preview. That link will take you to the community page were we post the latest update notes and you can find access to the preview servers there.
There are some things to keep in mind:
1. Preview is a test environment. Anything done in preview stays in preview and is subject to deletion at any time.
2. If you created your account recently you may get a message that your email wasn’t found. This occurs because Preview is a copy of Live Kaneva that is a couple of weeks old so you didn’t exist in Live Kaneva at the time the copy was made.
3. If you get the email not found message you can sign up for an account on preview using the same email address that you used on www.kaneva.com and it should let you in. Go here to sign up if you get the email not found message: Click here to sign up on preview.
That’s all I have for now. I will post again soon and give you a closer look into what it’s like working in QA for Kaneva.

BuraBura
Hi guys! My name is Brandon Fogerty. I have been working at Kaneva for almost a year now as a Game Tools Engineer. Perhaps you have seen me in world as BuraBura. My Wife is Japanese and when I visit her family in Japan, “BuraBura” or “Bura-chan” seems to be easier for them to pronounce as opposed to “Brandon” ;) “BuraBura” sounds unique thus I chose it as my Kaneva nickname.
Kaneva is divided up into different development teams. My team, is called the “Quick Hits” team. We are responsible for rapidly updating Kaneva with new and exciting features. We evaluate the many great ideas you present us on KANEVAIDEAS and determine what we can develop in a short amount of time. It is amazing just how many features we have crammed into Kaneva in such a short amount of time. It is really a great feeling to know that you guys care enough about the success of Kaneva to contribute your ideas.
One thing I have noticed about Kaneva during my time here is that many of our players are extremely loyal. Many Kanevans contribute their time to making Kaneva better everyday. So it begs the question… Why?
We all know that there are other virtual communities out there. Why have you chosen Kaneva? What is it that keeps bringing you back? One thing that I love about Kaneva is that we actually take our member’s advice seriously. We may not always get to develop every feature you request, but we do listen and seriously consider your suggestions.
What about you? What keeps you coming back to Kaneva? Is there some specific feature that Kaneva offers which stands out among our competitors? Perhaps you have a plethora of friends who play Kaneva? Maybe you are into casual games? Whatever the reason is, I really want to know what keeps you coming back for more. This will enable us to hone in on those areas which you feel are most important to Kaneva’s success.
As always, thank you so much for your support and for making Kaneva what it is today. Seriously, Kaneva has an exciting future and you can expect many great things ahead.
Signing out,
Brandon Fogerty aka (BuraBura)
